22 mile bike ride

As soon as Richard got home from work (OK, after a few kisses!) I took off on my bike for what I THOUGHT would be, maybe, a 2 hour ride. It was a fun but hard ride around the Western edge of Deer Creek Reservoir. It goes up and down and has hairpin curves and some really steep parts that I had to walk up. I got home after nearly 3 hours of biking. Yeah, that was long. I wish I could post pics but our camera has passed away.

Mike and Michelle's wedding day and more

My sister in law got married to her sweetie on July 3 2010 in the Portland LDS Temple. It was a beautiful day for them. They had a lovely reception in her mother in law's backyard and then an open house a few days later here in Utah. I must admit, the Portland reception was one of the hardest times I've ever had with Violet. She is so strong and fast and curious. The dirt and the rocks and the food on the ground at the reception was all very interesting to her. I then threw out my back a few days later doing laundry. I think it was from constantly, CONSTANTLY picking up Violet.

susie's baby shower

We had fun on wednesday at Susie's baby shower. We played a nursery rhyme fill in the blank game and we took a quiz about her baby's future stats. The food was awesome - susie and I made a few treats but Bryana made a lot of yummy food. Thank you Bryana! It was fun to see Natalie and also Davianne and her 3 kiddos.

I heart running!

6 weeks ago, I did a 5K during Memorial Day weekend and came in about 27:30. I didn't register for the run; I just showed up and did it so I don't know the exact time. Yesterday in Mona, I ran a 5K through the lavendar fields and came in at 27:11. (About 8:46/mile). The view was pretty but the route was too rocky for my taste. I was amazed I got a faster time because the start was sooo slow. Usually, in races, I've been a bit discouraged because I would apparently start too close too the front so all of the fast runners would pass and pass and pass me. Not fun. This time, I determined it would not happen again. Wouldn't you know - this was so slow. It almost backfired because I was trying hard to get around everyone and going off into rockier areas. At least I was finally able to pass people. That was a new experience. Here's a link to the lavendar farms I was at:
